Let's Talk About S-E-X...

Disclaimer: Sex is not usually a topic I choose to blog about, so if you are a first time reader or the talk of sex makes you uncomfortable...I swear to you...that this will never happen again. You can still visit my blog every day :)

After spending an entire day chasing your kid(s) around, your bed has never looked more inviting. You can't wait to dive into the sheets, pull the blanket over your head and just sleep. As your head sinks into the pillow, and you close your eyes, you feel him turn towards you and immediately you realize that he is in the mood.

It's the last thing you want to do at the end of the day. Especially when you have spent your day cleaning crayon off the wall, mopping spilt milk up off the floor, picking countless amounts of toys up in every room of the house, cooking supper, cleaning up after both the kids & the hubby, and countless other amounts of work you have done in a day. Sleep just looks more appetizing than sex.

I have found a solution. Afternoon delight. If you can't manage "afternoon delight"...then try "late-afternoon-delight".

Why?

Because, if you get it done in the afternoon or when he comes home from work...then you can go to sleep at bed time and not have to worry about...it. This way, you're happy, he's happy...and you're both getting some sleep.

Not a bad idea at all.... ;-)

Good idea, but who's watching the kid in the middle of the afternoon or after work?

I can see this working with one kid who takes naps, but if your kid is too old for naps or if you have more than one kid it's probably not going to work out that way.

We have three kids and during the day there is usually at least one of them up. Still, I think that sex is relaxing (well, I feel relaxed afterward) so I like having fun before bed anyway.

Jenny, for us, Bree goes down for her nap at around 2 and doesn't get up till 6...but like Mrs M pointed out...it would be harder to do this with older kids who aren't taking those precious naps anymore.

Sometimes I'm down for a little bit of fun before bed time, but other times I'm just sooooo tired...this was just a thought that popped into my head yesterday afternoon, after some "Afternoon delight".

Wait, all this talk and all I notice is that Bree sleeps from 2-6. When does she go to sleep for the night. That is a crazy (but amazing, I'm jealous) nap!

I want to know when she sleeps at night too! My daughter goes to bed by 8 p.m. but doesn't nap.

I put Bree to be around 9 or 9:30. If I put her down any earlier than that, she'd be up at the butt crack of dawn!

Bree doesn't sleep the entire four hours of "nap time", she plays for about two of those, but we both need some time apart when the afternoon rolls around after a crazy morning!
