I was hanging up some of my new clothes that I got at the outlets this past weekend in my closet, when Bree joined me. On the floor of the closet is a Clemson football poster with a list of the 2009 schedule. I wasn't really paying attention to what Bree was saying at first, because half of the time I can't understand the words coming out of her mouth. But then she kept repeating it with "Mommy!" added in to catch my attention. I finally looked at her and said, "What baby?"
"Football! Go Tigers!" she said pointing at the Clemson poster.
I nearly hit the floor. How did my two year old learn how to identify a football, a football player, and what team to cheer for? I was glad that Paul was home for lunch or he would have never believed me. I called him into the closet quickly, and got Bree to repeat what she had just said. Paul laughed. I couldn't tell if he was laughing at me or Bree. We had just had the conversation about how I couldn't wait until football was over. It begins to get on my nerves after a while. It completely consumes my weekends. Now, my two year old daughter knows and likes football.
Lord help me.
She never ceases to amaze me. Everyday it seems she has added 50 more words to her vocabulary, and the rest of the words that she was already saying are improving and are in the middle of her sentences. The sentence that she says often, that makes me laugh the most is, "I want to eat!". She doesn't say it sweetly, or kindly. She says it like she's been on a deserted island for 40 days, ravenous and starving. I wish you could hear it.
I couldn't imagine my life without this kid. She keeps me laughing, even when I don't much feel like it.

The things they come up with to get our jaws to drop! How cute and smart!
I enjoy reading your blog! Too bad we're rivals for the next couple of weeks :) (Go Cocks!) I will confess that Clemson has a better team, but Carolina has more senseless fans. If we had more sense, we wouldn't be fans, right?
That is too funny!
wow, what a remarkable kid!
I love when they first start talking and everything they say is a declarative sentence...LoL! Enjoy this stage =)
